Bouclé Scrap Jacket - Reclaimed Materials
For this project I collected serger scraps bound for landfill and transformed them into a new textile. I sorted and dyed serger scraps with indigo , then hand wove them into recycled and bamboo yarn weft using a traditional standing loom. The yardage was cut acording to a basic pattern and sewn into a medium weight cropped jacket. The resulting fabric possesses a boucle-effect reminiscent of couture clothing.
